The cannabis industry is complex and ever-changing, making legal compliance a significant challenge for cannabis businesses of all sizes. Not only are laws constantly shifting, there are also heavy-handed compliance requirements, multiple levels of health and safety risks, and difficult challenges throughout the cannabis supply chain. This is why cannabis compliance professionals are in such high-demand today.
Through case studies, video lectures, and assignments that cover important topics such as navigating the changing regulatory environments, using track and trace systems, preventing money laundering, and minimizing wasted products, you’ll gain a thorough understanding of the cannabis industry, the compliance needs and challenges throughout, and become empowered as a certified cannabis compliance professional.
Upon completion of this program, you’ll earn a certificate of completion from the university and a digital badge showcasing your skills. You’ll also be prepared to take the Certified Commercial Cannabis Professional (CCCP) through the Association of Certified Commercial Cannabis Experts (ACCCE).
Additionally, you’ll be granted ACCCE membership for one year when you register for this program, which includes access to additional resources and training materials designed to help you understand the complexities and risks of the commercial cannabis industry.
Beginning with Cannabis 101, the program will provide you with a comprehensive overview of federal and state cannabis regulation, and the historical events that led to the formation of these laws.
You’ll then get trained in an industry-adopted Cannabis Risk Assessment Framework, which gives you a step-by-step blueprint for becoming a successful cannabis compliance professional.

An in-depth introduction to cannabis, across history, culture and industry. Topics range from botany to business practices, including Cannabis Law and Policy, FDA regulation, and the many challenges that successful cannabis business face.
We recommend registering prior to the start date of the course. However, participants may register until Friday morning, after the start date. To register past that date, please contact us to see if we can accommodate your request.
The cannabis certificates are non-credit, so they are not eligible for federal aid at this time.
Students should expect to dedicate around 6-8 hours per week to complete coursework in this program.
Students who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion from the university they choose.
